Japan International Cooperation Agency in Tunisia: 5.4 million dinars



Tuesday, 02.10.2012, an agreement was signed by JICA, (the Japan International Cooperation Agency), and the Ministry of Tourism in Tunisia, in order to promote tourism in south Tunisia, especially the Sahara in the region of Tozeur and Guebilli, to welcome more Japanese tourists.







JICA funded the investment with 5.4 million dinars; a project starting from October 2012, and running for 3 years. 

The project will be introduced at the African Development International Conference that will be held in Tokyo, in 2013, as a representation of a North-South Cooperation, "it will provide job opportunities and remove regional disparity", (The General Director of JICA, at the signing ceremony"). 
The ministrer of Tourism, Elyes Fakhfakh, asserted that "The project will be a great contribution to promote the Saharan tourism in Tozeur and Kebili, in southern Tunisia"; besides it will foster marketing and communication approaches in southern regions and stimulate public and private partnership for future touristic projects.
