Increase in the influx: Japan +169.3%; Brazil: +76%; Australia: +385%


Good news are recorded according to the "African Manager" magazine; (africanmanager.com). Although unstable since the revolution, the tourism sector is making a good performance.

4.4 million is the number of tourists who visited Tunisia this year, from January 1st to September 20, "posting a 32% compared to the same period in 2011", and a decrease of 15% comparing to 2010. (Latest figures from the Ministry of Tourism- Tunisia/2012).
"Tourism revenues reached this year, two billion dinars, with an increase of 38% compared to 2011 and a decrease of 12% compared to 2010". (africanmanager.com).
It goes without saying that a decrease of tourists was recorded from January 1st to August 20, 2012: (-74.9%) from Middle East, among which 23.406 of tourists, Chinese (-78.8%), with 2.296 tourists, Africans (-60.6%).
Yet during the same period an increase was recorded from Japan, Brazil and Australia: (+169.3% of Japanese, with 4,379 tourists), (76% of Brazilians, with 1,320 tourists, and 38 5% of Australians with 1,011 tourists).

According to the same source, the tourists' movement from USA, North America and Arab Maghreb is increasing reaching 19,779 and 1,621,000 tourists in 2012, (cf. 13,507; 1,239.978 tourists in 2011), respectively.

  
Tunisia is still the popular destination of the Europeans, a ratio of app. 50.6%, with an increase of 1.309 million European tourists in 2011 (8 months) to 1.972 million European tourists in 2012, yet without reaching the 2010 figure, i.e. 2.498 million tourists.
Inorder to promote the tourism sector, a unit of management is going to be implemented by the ministry of Tourism to attract more tourists. Our objective: "reach 6.8 million tourists in 2013 and 10 million in 2016", the minister of tourism"
